NABA Update, May/June 2009
NABA'S FIRST GOLF TOURNAMENT OF THE YEAR A SUCCESS!
Northern Arizona Building Association held its first golf tournament of the year on May 8 with the assistance of the Tournament Sponsor National Bank of Arizona. The 16th Annual Swing Into Spring Tournament was held at the Aspen Valley Golf Course and was a huge success! 144 players came out to play on one of Flagstaff 's most prized private courses and received tee favors from HomCo Ace Hardware, Wallick & Volk Mortgage, National Bank of Arizona, Carpet Magic and Blue Stone Marketing.

The tournament is a leading NABA event and this year will benefit the Dawson Merrick Medical Fund. Dawson Merrick is the 9-year-old son of NABA Member Donn Merrick and grandson of Daryl Merrick. Dawson has been diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia and proceeds will go to help with his medical costs. Dawson's grandfather is a "founding father" of our association and was President in 1981 when our association was known as the Flagstaff League for Advancing Good Growth (FLAGG). Northern Arizona Building Association has been in existence since 1973.
NABA's second golf tournament of the year is the Jim Steves Memorial Golf Tournament usually held sometime between August and October.
